Enhancing an evidence-based approach in business-oriented courses

Objective

The project objective is to enhance evidence-based approach in business-oriented courses. To meet this aim Partners will attempt to satisfy the needs of both teachers and students in evidence-base teaching and learning in Partners institutions, as well as support the teachers outside the Partnership once the project is over. Specifically, Partners will review current state-of-art literature and practices to equip teachers and students with new materials developed with evidence-based approach.

Activities

Partners will interview academic teachers on their current practices, students on their perceptions and satisfaction with the teaching methods and review the literature to develop the guidelines for evidence-based approach in business-oriented courses. They will support teachers in redesigning their current syllabi and develop new materials for both teachers and students. Partners will conduct workshops at 12 HEI and set up EBT Centre to support teachers after project completion.

Results

The results of the project, accessible from the project website, will include: A comparative report detailing how the in-class experience matches with the international literature; Lesson scenarios developed with evidence-based approach; Resource Pack for Teachers; Redesigned syllabi; Blended-learning courses with Syllabi and Guidelines for teachers; Workshop PPT presentations, conference presentations and articles; EBT Centre website.

Teaching methods review

1 January 2025 – 31 August 2025

The general objective is to review current state-of-art literature and practices in evidence-based approach used in Partner institutions.

The activities consist in interviewing teachers and students, conducting class observations, evaluating materials and contents adopted for teaching as well as conducting literature review teacher seminars.

The results include: a report on teachers’ classroom practices; a report on students’ perceptions and experiences related to the approach currently used; a report on international literature review; a comparative report detailing how the in-class experience matches with the international literature.

Evidence-based resource materials for teachers

1 June 2025 – 31 August 2027

The general objective is to equip teachers of business-oriented courses with new materials developed with evidence-based approach and instructions how to redesign the materials they use in their every-day teaching practice.

The activities consist in developing lesson scenarios and Resource Pack for teachers, as well as redesigning courses already offered by Partner Institutions.

The results include: lesson scenarios developed with evidence-based approach in mind; Resource Pack for Teachers; redesigned syllabi for business-oriented courses so that they are in line with evidence-based approach.

Evidence-based blended-learning courses for students

1 January 2026 – 31 March 2027

The general objective is to provide students of business-oriented courses with new blended-learning courses developed with evidence-based approach.

The activities consist in developing 3 blended-learning courses with evidence-based approach in mind, together with guidelines for teachers and syllabi.

The results include: evidence-based blended-learning 3 ECTS courses, together with syllabi and guidelines for academic teachers willing to offer these courses in their HEI.
